Combining the Commonwealth Lifesaving Challenge and Commonwealth Lifesaving Championships, the Commonwealth Festival of Lifesaving aims to encourage participation in lifesaving sport and further development of lifesaving practices, as well as bringing the lifesaving family together.
The inaugural 2017 Festival moves from Durban to Leeds in 2019, to be held from 21st to 23rd November at the John Charles Centre for Sport, south of Leeds city.

The RLSSA Team
With support from the RLSSA National Board and National Sport Committee, we are pleased to confirm RLSSA’s participation at the Commonwealth Festival of Lifesaving (CFOL) 2019 in Leeds, UK:

To provide a development opportunity for emerging coaches, managers, and athletes, for exposure to international competition and to gain international touring experience;

To provide an opportunity for networking, relationship building, and knowledge sharing with international lifesaving community;

To support the inclusion of developing nations in lifesaving by facilitating and supporting sport development activities at the CFOL;
Selection to the RLSSA team will not only include competitive achievements but will also consider individuals’ commitment and leadership in pool lifesaving and with RLSSA.
The RLSSA Team will include:

National Team: 4 male and 4 female competitors, plus 1 male and 1 female non-travelling reserve
