OFFICIALS PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT 

The importance of development

RLSSA recommends that all Officials who become accredited continue to upgrade their knowledge.

The professional development program aims to raise the overall quality of Officials within pool lifesaving by ensuring they are provided with ongoing education and development opportunities covering areas such as:

  • Keeping abreast of the latest information on developments within lifesaving as a sport

  • Receiving the latest general and specific safety information related lifesaving as a sport

  • Having access to the most up-to-date techniques and rules for lifesaving as a sport

Officiating at Events

There is no better professional development then Officiating at an event and giving new roles a go. There are a range of roles to participate in. Have you tried being a:

  • Chief Timekeeper

  • SERC / CPR Judge

  • Competitor Liaison

  • Marshall

Officiating Workshops

Most Royal Life Saving State and Territory Member Organisations and the National Office run face to face officiating workshops throughout the year.

 

These may be single events dedicated to specific activities or technicals skills or may be part of e bigger development workshop. Many workshop are conducted in conjunction with Competition Events so be sure to check the details of any competition events that are going on also
