Royal Life Saving is pleased to announce the appointment of David Macallister as the new National Sport Advisor and Chair of the Royal Life Saving National Sport Committee.
David has more than four decades of lifesaving experience and extensive achievements as an athlete, volunteer, and trainer.
David became a member of Auburn Lifesaving Club in 1974, competing in club, State and National competition until 1992. Whilst a member of Auburn Lifesaving Club he gained distinction and instructor awards, obtaining his RLSSA Examiner award in 1981 and teaching the various lifesaving strands to members of the Auburn Lifesaving Club before gaining the RLSSA Diploma in 1997.
David’s commitment to Royal Life Saving is further exemplified in the professional arena, having been employed by RLS NSW from 1986 as a Development Officer and working his way to Chief Executive Officer in 2001 before retiring in 2019. Most recently, David has held the voluntary position of Principal Advisor to the NSW Board of Directors.
David said he’s thrilled to work with the sport committee and continue to grow pool lifesaving sport.
